Travis County Green Party

The Travis County Green Party is endorsing Laura Morrison for The Place 4 runoff election for Austin City Council.

Austin is a great place to live because great people like Laura serve in city hall in the interest of the people.

The Place 4 runoff election will take place on June 14th. Get out and vote!

During the Travis County Party's April monthly meeting, Dr. Charles Wukasch, a professor at Austin Community College, was elected to a two-year term as Chairperson of the county party.

He takes over for Bill Holloway who remains on in the party as an active member, party Secretary, and Info Technology Coordinator (web and database person).

Feb 29, 2008 -- The Guardian is reporting that the six-year long US operation in Afghanistan is close to "failing," according Mike McConnell, US Director of Intelligence.

Mike McConnell testified in Washington that Hamid Karzai's government controls about 30% of Afghanistan and the Taliban 10%, with the remainder is under tribal control.

In the Democratic and Republican Parties, good candidates will have to face well-funded, pro-corporate, pro-war, anti-impeachment, anti-civil-rights opposition in the primary elections.

Good candidates in the Green Party will not.
